Professor Tinoco chose not just to instruct, but to welcome young engineering students into the field. He was our faculty advisor for Miami's ASCE chapter, and his patronage is the reason for many lifelong friendships and career defining relationships and moments.

Mi más sentido pésame Tia Rocio, Rebeca y Eleonor .Como lamento la partida de mi tío Fernando , dios lo tenga en su gloria.  Tengo lindos recuerdos de los tiempos que los visitábamos en esa casa tan hermosa que tenían en Caracas . No tuve la suerte de compartir  mucho con mi tío pero tengo bonitos recuerdos de él . Dios los bendiga y les de muchas fortaleza en estos momentos.

Dear Tinoco Family..... I remember Fernando very fondly.  He was a committed Geotechnical Engineering instructor and was a brave advisor for the student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.  He always talked about his family, wanting the best.  I also remember him as an avid football fan, not able to watch the games live (he would watch them after the fact once the score was known) due to what he described as his level of anxiety if he were to watch it live.  I remember him as a wonderful man and role model, who impacted all of us and many students at the University of Miami.  He will be missed.
