My deepest condolences to all of Faud’s loved ones. Today, my ex- husband Vic Miller, passed by Alex Interiors and found out about Faud’s passing.  He was an awesome neighbor - many years back. Our children played together. Prayers going out to all concerned. 💕 

A very dear friend since our growing up days in Chaguanas. He was instrumental in assisting me to obtain my first drivers license in US around 1998 or so. 
We had spent some memorable  times. I particularly remembered the boat trip to down the island along with brother Rayad where they cooked curry goat and t’ing. 
I am so sad today (12/26/20) to learn about his passing as I have lost contact with him since I migrated to US some years ago. 
I remember sometime at or about 2005 we linked up briefly in Trinidad while both of us were there. It was my hope  to get his contact whenever I visit back home. I intend to still connect with the family. 
Really a sad day for me. I pray the best for his family. 
May his soul rest in peace.

We pray that God Almighty, in His infinite mercy and wisdom, blesses the soul of dear Brother, Fuad, and cover him with His (God) mercies, forgive him  for his weakness, and reward him immeasurably for his good deeds, and grant him a place in Janaat-ul- Firdoz, the highest Heaven, on the Day of Qayamat, the Day of Reckoning. After we graduated from high school in 1970, we took different paths/tracks - yours truly opted to venture into the wider world in search of knowledge, and that nebulous, elusive thing called Wisdom. And after 47 years, I’m still searching. Fuad, on the other hand, was smart! He immersed himself in his thriving family’s business, and honed his skills in upholstery and small business management eventually leading to his traverse to the United States and the acquisition of Alex Interiors here in Miami, FL, USA. The fact that Alex continues to operate to this day, (of course in large measure due to Pinky’s contribution) is testament to Fuad’s hard work, vision and the foundation, the substrate he established over 3 decades ago.
About 7/8 years after we graduated from high school, our relationship took on a greater significance when Fuad became a member of an extended family by taking the hand of Vidya in marriage – Vidya of course being the sister of my wife, Sue. And as they say, the rest was history.
 It’s no secret that Fuad was raised in a prominent, well-to-do family in central T&T in the 50’s and 60’s. But in spite of that, or some may say because of that, he exhibited a level of humility and selflessness that is not often seen in people who share a similar socio-economic background. To my mind, that speaks volumes about (1) his upbringing and (2) his character. And you know what they say about character - Character is, well, Destiny. So may his Destiny be filled with Peace, Peace and more Peace.
So with these words, I wish to sincerely express, on behalf of my wife Sue, sister of Vidya, and my son KC and his family, (KC was here for the last few days but had to return to Canada) and indeed on my own behalf, our deepest, heart-felt condolences and love to Vidya, Farrah and Felisha and all of the Fuad’s loved ones, and ask God Almighty to grant them the strength, courage, wisdom, patience, and forbearance to soldier on in the face of adversity.
 

And who believe in that which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) and that which was revealed before thee, and are certain of the Hereafter
These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful.

And so it is today we have come together here to honour and pay our final respects to our beloved Brother, Fuad Shakeer, an exceptional human being, a devoted and exemplary husband, a loving father, a caring brother, uncle, friend and grand father.

My relationship/friendship with Fuad dates back to the mid-1960’s when we were both students at Central Secondary School in Chaguanas, T&T. My memory of Fuad during our high-school years is as vivid today as it was back then. And I see our buddy, Radesh, in the audience here today…Fuad, Radesh and myself were all classmates at Central Sec. in the 60’s. I recall Fuad being an industious student who was always neatly dressed, with his hair well groomed, sporting a Shakeer-signature briefcase, riding his colourful bicycle from Montrose to Chaguanas Main Road. But not only did he stand out for his briefcase and name recognition, there was also serious, unassuming side to him. He seemed to be a man on a mission. And on a mission, he was indeed!

Ashadu an laa ilaaha iIallahuu wahdahuu la shaeeka lahuu Wa Ashaduan anna Muhammadan abdahu wa Rasuuluh - I bear witness that there no deity but Allah, Who is alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His Servant and Apostle.

This the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance unto those who ward off evil. Who believe in the unseen, and establish worship, and spend of that which we have bestowed upon them           

Faud was my high school friend at Central Secondary, Chaguanas. 
He was quiet, smart and loving friend. I remembered during lunch time having a bread and sap with him next door at fatman parlour.
