My dear Dad, it has taken me a few days to actually sit down and write something to you. As I looked at you last night, it was very hard to think it would be the last time I would be seeing you.....maybe I was in denial or maybe I just didn’t want to let go. Even though you had a very strong character, you were always the life of the party. You were tremendo jodedor even in your last days. I have a lot of you in me, and I’m very proud of that, maybe that’s why I’m so strong. I know you will always be by our side and I promise, I will keep your spirit alive and will continue making you proud. I will always love you!! Yvettiti

Papi, I am so thankful to have been here by your side when you needed me the most. You will greatly be missed but you will never be forgotten. I know that you will live in our hearts forever as we will always talk about your loud laughter (which filled the room), your sense of humor, and your overall strength. I love you papi and I pray that you rest in eternal peace.

More than an uncle always...ever since I have memory of being you and tia, (boyfriend and girlfriend then jeje) were part of my afternoons, my memories of Holidays and family.
You will remain a huge part of my life. Thank you for all the great memories...
With love always. Ana Alicia

As I write this, I can hear tio’s laughter so loud it makes me smile...our cafecitos together with whip cream “en el family” and how he always pushed me to do more. I can hear him and abuelo Pedro sharing memories from Holguin...
I know you feel the love and all the happiness that your memory brings to all of us. Thank you tío for every joke, for giving me the opportunity to restart my life in this country! We love you, always remember you! Alicin

I am so happy I got to spend one last moment with you and your great grand children. It meant a lot to me that you got to meet your fourth great grand child, Troy. I know you were so happy to hear that we were coming down to see you. You were always such a strong person and I’ll never forget that about you. You will truly be missed and my children will always know who you were. We love you so much!! Rest In Peace abuelo.
Love you always,
Katrina, Jordan, Athena and Troy Vila
