Genevieve was a kind, loving, and genuine mother and grandmother who guided her family through life’s hardships, joys, and achievements. She loved cooking delicious meals for her family, bringing everyone together around the table. She was a great listener and had a passion for reading, completing puzzles, and games that kept her mind sharp. She also enjoyed cheering on her LA Dodgers and Miami Dolphins, as well as watching UM football games alongside her grandchildren and their spouses.
Genevieve had a deep love of food and cooking, delighting in preparing delicious meals that brought her family together. From Italian to Cuban, she could cook it all. She never needed a timer or measuring spoon, instead relying on her Italian intuition to know when a meal was perfectly ready. She often spoke fondly of her grandmother Connie cooking everything from scratch and tending a backyard garden where everything was fresh. Pasta was handmade, sauce simmered for hours, and cannolis were crafted with love. Those early lessons in food, family, and tradition shaped the woman she became.
A true Sicilian warrior, Genevieve faced life’s challenges with strength and grace, always putting her family first. She was the foundation of her family and a source of love, wisdom, and comfort to all who knew her.
Genevieve is survived by her son, Anthony Prado Jr. (Miriam Prado); daughter, Genevieve Prado Gomez (Santiago Gomez); and son, Frank Prado (Félida Maria Prado); as well as her grandchildren, Daniel Prado (Alexa Rodriguez), Nicholas Prado (Amanda Prado), Christopher Prado (Audrey Fernandez Prado), Mia Gomez, Susan Prado, and Natalie Prado.
Her family is grateful for the time spent together and the memories made, and they take comfort knowing she is reunited with her husband and love of her life, Tony Prado.
Genevieve will be deeply missed, remembered for her spunk, her strength, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends
