Gladys D. Fernandez

Thursday August 13, 2020. She is survived by her two sons Henry and Eric

DeLaCruz, Grandchildren, Erica, Alyssa, Gabriella, Eleni and Gabriel DeLaCruz

and Great Grandchildren, Sariah, Amani, James and Ryland. Gladys moved from

Cuba to New York City in 1958. She had her two sons in 1959 and 1961, which she

then devoted her every waking moment to providing them with a better life. She

dedicated the rest of her life to family, her true passion. She not only raised her two

sons but relished being a Grandmother, actively participating in the upbringing of

all her Grandchildren. Gladys worked at Bulova Watch Company where she

worked as a technician. Since then she had several jobs, including seamstress and

Beautician. Gladys was blessed with the ability of developing lifelong friends which

she enjoyed cultivating and sharing experiences. The funeral service will be held at

Caballero-Rivero Westchester on Sunday, August 23 from 12pm -3 pm. Respecting

the current precautions due to COVID-19 we ask that all visitors comply with

masks and social distancing, we will be offering a Facebook Live Stream for friends

and family that are unable to attend. We would like to thank all of our friends and

family for their unwavering support and love.

Gladys D. Fernandez, de 87 años, de Holguín, Cuba, falleció mientras dormía el

jueves 13 de agosto de 2020. Le sobreviven sus dos hijos Henry y Eric DeLaCruz,

los nietos, Erica, Alyssa, Gabriella, Eleni y Gabriel DeLaCruz y los bisnietos,

Sariah, Amani, James y Ryland. Gladys se mudó de Cuba a Nueva York en 1958.

Tuvo a sus dos hijos en 1959 y 1961, que luego dedicó cada momento de vigilia a

proporcionarles una vida mejor. Dedicó el resto de su vida a la familia, su verdadera

pasión. No sólo crió a sus dos hijos, sino que disfrutó de ser abuela, participando

activamente en la educación de todos sus nietos. Gladys trabajó en Bulova Watch

Company, donde trabajó como técnico. Desde entonces tuvo varios trabajos,

incluyendo costurera y Esteticista. Gladys fue bendecida con la capacidad de

desarrollar amigos de por vida que disfrutaba cultivando y compartiendo

experiencias. El servicio funerario se llevará a cabo en Caballero-Rivero

Westchester el domingo 23 de agosto de 12pm -3 pm. Respetando las precauciones

actuales debido a COVID-19 pedimos que todos los visitantes cumplan con

máscaras y distanciamiento social, estaremos ofreciendo una transmisión en vivo de
