Gladys was married to Caustulo J Gonzalez MD for 54 years, though they knew each other for 60 years—a long and devoted companionship that reflected the steadiness of her love and the quiet strength with which she carried herself through life.

She also found joy in the everyday details that made life feel well-tended and beautiful—shopping, fashion, and the simple certainty that her nails appointment was a must. She cared for plants as well, nurturing what was living and growing, a quiet reflection of the patience and tenderness she offered so naturally.
Gladys is survived by her brothers, Jose Gonzalez, Fabio Luquetta, Jorge Luquetta, and Orlando Luquetta; her sisters, Alissa Luquetta and Yasmine Franco; her daughter, Kathy C. Avila; and her sons, Jose E. Gonzalez MD and Caustulo J Gonzalez MD.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lanie Maida; her brother, Celso Luquetta; and her spouse, Caustulo J Gonzalez MD.
