It is with great sadness that we share that my brother Gus passed away this morning at the age of 67.
When Gus was 7 years old he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. Doctors told our family that he would likely not live past the age of 23. As anyone who knew Gus can imagine, he was far too stubborn to listen to that prediction. Through determination, resilience, and an incredible love for life, he went on to live a life that exceeded every expectation.
Gus faced more challenges than most people could imagine, yet he never lost his sense of humor. No matter the situation, he always found a way to communicate, crack a joke, make people smile, and remind us all not to take life too seriously. His strength was remarkable, but his ability to laugh and make others laugh was just as extraordinary.
This morning, Gus’s journey came to an end. While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful that he is now at peace and free from the limitations he carried for so many years, especially the last 6 years.
We will remember his stubborn spirit, his quick wit, and his determination to live life on his own terms. He taught us more about courage, perseverance, and joy than he will ever know.
Gus will be cremated, and we will share additional information with family and friends as it becomes available.
RIP my Dear Brother, We can only imagine the jokes you’re already telling up there especially to our mom. ✝️✝️❤️
