Irene Tremols de Sosa, 82, passed away on October 25th, 2022.
Irene was born on December 1st, 1939 to Alicia Crab and Jose Luis Tremols in Havana, Cuba. She attended Sagrado Corazón in Havana. Irene met Enrique Sosa in Havana and the two were married on December 26th, 1960.
Enrique and Irene’s 62 year marriage began in Gainesville, Florida and took them through several international moves with their 5 daughters. They retired in Key Biscayne, Florida. Summers were spent in the Bahamas and on Lake Charlevoix, Michigan.
Irene is described as the rock of her family, everyone’s dancing queen, and “Aba”.
She is survived by her husband, Enrique Sosa, her daughters Maria L.Villegas (Rudy), Sylvia Cofer (Gary), Lourdes Sosa, Beatriz Douma, and Irene Callam (Tom), her grandchildren; Riqui and Vico Villegas, Brian (Emily) and Elliot Cofer, Katie, Henry and Jill Douma, Emily, Campbell, and Annie Callam.
Services will be held Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at Our Lady of Belen Chapel Miami, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Camillus House, www.camillus.org.
