Irma Cortina, 90, was born on April 6, 1936, in Holguin, Holguín Province, Cuba, and passed away on June 20, 2026. She will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege to know her.
Irma was married to the late Gaspar Cortina for 67 years, a steadfast partnership that reflected a life grounded in devotion and constancy. Throughout her years, she was a beloved and cherished presence—brave in the face of life’s changes, gentle in spirit, and compassionate in the ways that matter most. Her thoughtfulness was felt not in grand gestures, but in quiet attentions and steady care.
Her love for family was at the center of her life, and she had a remarkable way of keeping family together. Whether through time shared at home, the simple satisfaction of gardening, or the calm enjoyment of sering, she carried herself with a grace that made others feel welcomed, seen, and supported.
Irma is survived by her daughters, Yvette Sierra and Saymar Guembes; her son in laws, Francisco Sierra and Victor Guembes; her grandchildren, Aileen Calveiro, Christopher Poulos, Louis Calveiro and Katrina Vila; and her great grandchildren, Monique, Melanie, Athena, Troy, Maia and Mattew. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Gaspar Cortina.
A visitation will be held at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 BIRD RD, MIAMI, FL 33155, US, on June 24, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
