Mama was born in Holguín, Cuba, she was the youngest of four and was lovingly called Chiqui, She was the heart of her family, a guiding presence whose warmth could be felt the moment you entered a room.
She shared a remarkable love story with her husband, Gliceldo, the love of her life. Together, they were married for 67 years, building a life rooted in commitment, partnership, and unwavering love. Though Gliceldo passed in 2022, Mama carried his love with her always.
Mama was a devoted mother to her daughters, Miriam Osana and Grisel Beatriz, whose care and love meant everything to her. She was also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Michelle and Vanessa (Grisel’s daughters), and Frankie, Jennifer, and Alex (Miriam’s children). Mama lovingly referred to Michelle and Vanessa as her daughters, a reflection of the deep bond and unconditional love she shared with them.
She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Mia, Leah, Lucas, Angelina, Juliana, Gia, Val, and Frankie. Each of them brought her immense joy.
Food was one of Mama’s greatest love languages, especially when it came from her daughters. Miriam’s Arroz con Pollo was a favorite, and though Grisel always said she didn’t know how to cook, Mama proudly taught her how to make Arroz con Salchichas, a dish Mama always looked forward to enjoying.
In the last three and a half years, Mama lived in Kendall with Michelle, Adam, and Lucas, where she was surrounded by love every single day. Her eyes would light up each morning when Lucas greeted her, and she poured so much of herself into his early childhood. Instilling love, and memories that will last a lifetime. She especially cherished the frequent visits from her two princesas, Mia and Leah, sitting with her and talking about school and dance, filling her days with joy.
Mama’s legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the traditions she passed down, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She will forever be remembered as the heart of our family, our Mama, whose love will continue to guide us even in her absence.
