I want to say how grateful I am to have had a grandfather like you in my life. ❤️ Every time I look at this picture, I see the happiness on your face, and I am reminded that your love for me began from the very first moments of my life.

I was too young to remember that moment, but thankfully, that picture allows me to see it. It reminds me that before I ever knew who you were, before I could understand the kind of man you were, and before I could appreciate everything you would come to mean to me, I was already loved by you.

One of the greatest gifts you gave me was inspiring me to look toward the skies and believe that I could build a career in aviation. I still remember being a child and having the opportunity to visit the FAA control tower with you. At the time, I may not have fully understood how much that experience would mean to me, but looking back now, I realize it was the beginning of something that would become such an important part of my life.

Looking back now, I realize how precious those little moments really are. Sometimes we don’t know which hugs will become memories we wish we could relive.
