On the evening of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 6:25 p.m., Johnny went home to the Lord. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by love and joins his beloved mother Cristina, in Heaven, reunited again...
Johnny’s story was one of courage, humor, and an unshakable spirit. From the time he was just two years old, he faced the daily challenges of diabetes. But if you knew Johnny, you knew it never defined him. He chose to live life on his own terms.
Even through the hardest moments, especially in the past year and a half, Johnny never lost the things that made him who he was: his sense of humor, his adventurous heart, his determination to live and deep love for family and friends. Most of all, his faith in God only grew stronger. He trusted completely in the Lord’s plan, and that trust carried him through every challenge.
In later years, Johnny found his best friend in his dad, John. The two were inseparable—sharing breakfast most mornings, meeting up for afternoon cortadito and croqueta runs, calling each other multiple times a day “just to check in,” and going on special outings Johnny would plan for the two of them. Their bond was rare, beautiful, and will be cherished forever.
Johnny is survived by his father, John G. Sabina, and wife Mayra Martinez; his sisters, Cristina Fernandez and Liane Sabina; his sons, Jonathan Sabina and Alexander Sabina; his granddaughter, Ana Rose Sabina; his brother-in-law, Carlos Fernandez; his nieces, Raquel Fernandez and Carolina Fernandez; and his daughters-in-law, Jennifer Sabina and Lileh Sabina.
We will miss him more than words can express. Though our hearts ache, we are grateful for every moment we had—the laughter, the tears, the adventures, and the unconditional love. Johnny’s life reminds us that joy can live alongside hardship, and that faith can shine brightest in the storm.
This is not goodbye, Johnny. It’s simply, that we love you and “see you later.”
