My Best Friend Jorge – wonderful in spirit, mind and body.
Jorge and I were best friends – we were among a group of four: Aldo Morales, Darrell Radson, Jorge, and me. We would meet regularly and discuss futurist big ideas. We were all jazz heads and on Friday evenings we would go to church - the First Unitarian Church in Coral Gables where Ira Sullivan led a group of great Jazz musicians for an unbelievable night of music on beanbag chairs.
My first live jazz performance was with Jorge to see Deodato at the Gusman Cultural Center. We all would also go to jazz venues and concerts around Miami like the Traveler’s Lounge, Coconut Grove Playhouse, or Gusman Concert Hall at the University of Miami. 
Jorge had a big effect on his friends. I can say and I know all that knew him will say that he was a driver of great enlightenment and the meetings the group of four had were always a “My Dinner with Andre” experience. Jorge’s love of architecture and design was deep and contagious. He greatly affected my interest in architecture and design but much more than that – the loving spirit of the Garcia family. 
I would visit Jorge when I came down to visit my family in Ocala and Miami while he lived with his dad and later at the Blue Lagoon assisted care facility.  My mom had the same condition as Jorge and later dementia and what I witnessed and felt was these conditions are like a veil of fog and even in later years we all experienced the same core Jorge hidden by the veil and sometimes the veil would lift and we would experience the Jorge we knew. 
The ultimate veil has lifted and the Lord’s face shines upon Jorge.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to everyone in Jorge's family.  Jorge touched many of us in many ways.  My life has been significantly influenced by my experiences with Jorge during high school.  I will always remember and cherish the great times we had together.
