Juan L. Aguirre, devoted husband, father, brother, and son, was called home to the Lord on January 2, 2026. He now rests in eternal peace, reunited in heaven with his beloved mother, Sonia Lerner, and surrounded by God’s everlasting love.
Juan was born on June 23, 1963, in Juiz de Fora, Brazil. He attended Frederick Military Academy, graduating as the Salutatorian of his class in 1981. Even then, Juan expressed the outlook that would guide his life, writing in his high school yearbook words he would live by: “proud of the good times and laugh at the bad times.”
He later earned a degree in Computer Science from Florida International University and devoted his professional life to developing software programs in the travel, healthcare, and real estate industries. His work reflected his intellect and dedication, leading to publication in a medical journal and participation in the development of a patent.
At the age of 17, Juan met the love of his life, Hena, and together they shared nearly 45 years of love, faith, and companionship. Their greatest blessing was their son, Mariano, who was the joy of Juan’s heart and the pride of his life.
Juan lived a life rooted in love, generosity, and service to others. His devotion to family and friends was unwavering, and he opened his heart and home to all. Tío Juan’s Karaoke parties were legendary, where music filled the room with joy and laughter. Music brought him peace and became one of the many ways he connected with others.
A devoted student of history—especially military history—Juan believed that learning was a lifelong calling. He was also a guiding presence in the lives of many, offering wisdom, encouragement, and often life-changing counsel with humility and compassion. To so many, he was a big brother, mentor, and guiding hand.
Juan believed that a person should not be defined by a condition or physical limitation. Instead, he encouraged others to be informed and to advocate for themselves. His tenacity, discipline, and self-confidence helped him defy the odds and inspired many.
Juan leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his wife, Hena; his son, Mariano; his sister, Cynthia (Frank); his in-laws, Max (Scott), Ana Carolina (Scott), and Carla; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Cristofer, Nicholas, Christian, David Carl, Sofia, and Isabella, and his aunt, Eva Lerner.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Juan’s spirit lives on, and his love and impact on those he touched will remain forever.
