María Teresa! Llevaba años tratando de dar con el paradero de Julián Alpízar Alfonso, mi antiguo, muy recordado y querido compañero de los Maristas de Cienfuegos.
Buscando en Google, encontré el obituario de la funeraria Caballero Rivero. En la foto, me pareció reconocer de inmediato a quien llamábamos Julito: misma sonrisa, idéntica mirada que hace 60 años, cuando nos vimos por última vez.
La triste confirmación vino cuando vi una foto en la que él aparece con sus tíos Rafael De León y Aida Alfonso, figuras entrañables de mi infancia.
Julián (Julito) permanece muy presente en mi memoria, para siempre.
Mis más sinceras condolencias de quien comparte el dolor de sus seres queridos.

While we never really saw eye to eye, Tio July is still my Godfather and we cared for each other very much. Iiiin our own angry duck quacking, Devilfather and Devilson way. His Donald was by far better than mine. May he still be quacking up a storm up with all the other angels.

Dear Julian ,
Great memories of all the times we went to the beach,I will miss you pushing the beach buggy all over the sand and the way you tied everything down so it wouldn’t fall! The beach will never be the same! 

Dating Linn I had the privilege to experience much of her family,
including Tio Julian, through family dinners and parties. Regardless of his condition, if there was a celebration of any sort you knew Tio would be there to enjoy the presence of his family as much as he could. That is the type of person he was, a family man who cared deeply about those around him. You will be missed Tio. Thank you for treating me like I was part of the family you always enjoyed celebrating from the moment we met.

Dear Tito, I'll never forget your silly jokes, passionate spirit, or your tequila shots.  I do and will miss you dearly. It's hard to believe you are gone, but you will live on through us and our memories. 

When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them but to live with the love and memories they left behind. I am one that likes to create memories so we can have our loved ones close and dear to our hearts when they leave us. Padrino, in our hearts you will always be and hold a very special place . You will never be forgotten and yes, little-by-little we let go of the heartache, but never the memories nor the love.

34 years ago we started waking this path together and today we must continue on alone until we meet again. I wish for you from the bottom of my heart to Rest In Peace and watch over us now that you are in the highest 🙏❤️

My dad was always quick to go on adventures, compete for best quack vs Donald Duck, and figure out a fix even if it got a little messy. Dad raised me to have a sense of wonder, taught me how to drive in South Florida, and made sure I knew just how much he loved us. It's no secret he held onto more pain than anyone should ever have to hold, but he put the ones he loved in high priority when it counted most despite the fact. Part of him will always be with me, will always be joining me on the next adventure, and always making sure I pick out the good tequila. 

Have a peaceful rest, silly old man. I love you so much and I'll see you in time, but for now we'll keep your best memories alive.

It is always hard to say goodbye to a dear friend, but this is not goodbye. It is so long till we meet again in eternal life. Rest In Peace you deserve it.

I'll always keep you in my heart as I have kept you all this years, even from far away. You were always good to me, helping me with school work, being funny, making us laugh all the time. You will be missed but guaranteed I'll never forgive you. 

Dear Julian we met you back in 2003 at St Michael, when Caro and Erik were in second grade, We became friends that turn into family! Thru the years both families traveled and spent Holidays together, know you will be dearly missed, however you are now in the loving arms of Jesus and no longer in pain, you are now our guardian angel looking down and protecting us all! Un día juramos amarnos en la buenas y en las malas, en las alegrías y en las tristezas, en la salud y en la enfermedad; creo que cumplimos nuestros juramentos ante Dios, con días muy felices y otros no tan buenos pero siempre caminando lado a lado. Te voy a extrañar mucho y este lunes 18 el día de tu cumpleaños número 75 va a ser agridulce porque después de 38 años vas a estar solo lejos de nosotras pero estoy tranquila de saber que estás con el ser más amado por ti, tu guía, tu amado Jesús a quien le orabas y le pedías que no te abandonara en tu dolor y sufrimiento. El te escuchó y te demostró su amor llamándote a su lado el día de su pasión el viernes Santo un día tan sagrado para un cristiano fiel como tu, que con fe y valor resististe el momento de tu partida para recibir alivio a tu dolor y encontrar el descanso eterno. Nunca olvidaré la hora de esa llamada justo 12:33am mientras oraba por ti y le pedía a Dios que nunca te abandonara, que te mostrara el camino con su luz divina al minuto 33 la edad de Jesús supe que el también me escucho. Ahora se que vas a velar por nosotras. Espero que te reúnas con tantos seres amados que se fueron con la esperanza del reencuentro. Carolina y yo te prometimos poco antes que seríamos felices que no te preocuparás por nosotras que continuaríamos nuestras vidas siempre recordándote como ese ser lleno de luz y alegría que nos regalasteis tantas memorias imposibles de olvidar. 💔❤️ Descasa en paz mi querido Julian 🙏. Julian era mi primo, de parte de mi madre. Nos ayudó muchísimo cuando migramos de Puerto Rico. Siempre fue muy amable y cariñoso. Aunque no nos manteníamos en contacto,  lo quería con todo mi corazón. Descansa hermano y pronto nos reuniremos en el paraíso celestial. 

 I met Tio Julian attending Linnett’s ballet recitals. From then on at every family gathering he was always so humble, kind, and sincerely funny.  One of my favorite memories of Tio Julian was his Donald Duck impressions. As a teenager it brought me so much joy & laughter and has continued to do so into my 30’s. Hope you’re rejoicing & partying it up while watching over all of us. You will forever be missed Tio! -Jackie Escobar

La Biblia es un libro que da esperanza y consuelo cuando sufrimos la muerte de alguien que amamos. Apocalipsis 21:4 dice"Y les secará toda lágrima de sus ojos, y la muerte ya no existirá, ni habrá más tristeza ni llanto ni dolor. Las cosas anteriores han pasado."
El reino de Jehová Dios eliminará toda maldad y sufrimiento e incluso la muerte desaparecerá para siempre y tendremos la oportunidad de recibir devuelta a la vida a nuestros seres amados en una resurrección aquí en la tierra hecha un paraíso.
Espero que estas palabras les traiga de algún modo consuelo y esperanza.
