

Katia Arriaza, a devoted mother and grandmother, and matriarch of her family, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 82, in Hollywood, Florida. Her life was marked by strength and unconditional love.
Born on Septiembre 14, 1943, in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, Katia Arriaza was the daughter of Horacio Roman Arriaza and Lilia Ferrer Sastre. Throughout her life, she carried the values of resilience, devotion, and hard work. In 1992, she moved to the United States to open the pathway for her family to later arrive. She worked at the Miami Archdioceses for over 25 years. She built a life for her and her family with hard work and dedication.
She leaves to be cherished by her daughters, Karina Rodriguez and Katia Martin; her son-in-law, David Alfaro; and her grandchildren, Luis Manuel and Monica, who were the pride and joy of her life. She was survived by her extended family members and friends in the United States and Cuba.
Katia was known for her quiet strength, nurturing spirit, and faith in God. She was a caregiver by nature, always placing family first and offering love through her actions rather than words.
The visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South & Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, located at 11655 SW 117th Ave, Miami, Fl 33186.
Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South & Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, located at 11655 SW 117th Ave, Miami, Fl 33186.
Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones and resting in the arms of the Lord.
