Rev. Dr. Luciano C. Jaramillo

Escritor, periodista y orador de reconocido prestigio internacional, nació en Cisneros, Colombia. Se desempeñó como educador y pastor en varias iglesias en su patria, rector del Colegio Americano de Cali. Fue también presidente de la Confederación de Iglesias Evangélicas (CEDEC).

Formó parte del equipo continental de las Sociedades Bíblicas Unidas desde México y Estados Unidos. Posteriormente se unió a la Sociedad Bíblica Internacional (SBI) como encargado y coordinador del equipo de veinte eruditos bíblicos latinoamericanos que produjo una de las más recientes traducciones de la Biblia al español: La Nueva Versión Internacional. Fue Vicepresidente de Área de SBI para América Latina y el ministerio hispano en los Estados Unidos.

Ministro ordenado de Iglesia Presbiteriana Cumberland, hasta el momento de su fallecimiento pastoreaba la Iglesia Presbiteriana Cumberland El Camino en Miami. Su amor por la Palabra lo impulsó siempre a predicar el mensaje de salvación de Jesucristo, y a impulsar la lectura y estudio a fondo de las Escrituras.

Autor de varios libros entre los que pueden mencionarse Un tal Jesús, Cartas a Dios, Jesús Ejecutivo, El mensaje de los números, dentro y fuera de la Biblia, ¡Ahora entiendo! (Hermenéutica), Léelo, piénsalo, vívelo.

Amante esposo, padre y abuelo ejemplar, le sobreviven su esposa Athala Guihur, sus hijos Patricia, Javier e Iris Athala, su nuera María, su yerno Edgar, y sus nietos Maia Isabella, Jeremy, Lucas René y Noah Luciano.

Un(a) visitation para Luciano se realizará el viernes, febrero 5, 2021 desde la(s) 6:00 p. m. hasta la(s) 11:59 p. m., 8200 Bird Road, Miami, Florida 33155. Un(a) servicio en el cementerio se llevará a cabo el sábado, febrero 6, 2021 a la(s) 9:30 a. m. en Caballero Rivero Dade South, 14200 SW 117 Avenue, Miami, Florida.

Born in Cisneros, Colombia, Luciano was an internationally renowned writer, journalist and speaker. He was an educator and pastor of numerous churches in his home country, as well as Headmaster of the Colegio Americano of Cali, and President of the Confederation of Evangelical Churches (CEDEC).

Luciano served on the continental leadership team of the Americas for United Bible Societies in both Mexico and the United States. He later joined International Bible Society as the Areas Director and Regional Vice President of Latin America and Hispanic Ministries, during which time he directed and coordinated twenty Latin American Biblical scholars in the production of one of the most recent translations of the Bible in Spanish: La Nueva Versión Internacional.

As an ordained minister for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Luciano pastored Iglesia Presbiteriana Cumberland El Camino in Miami until his dying day. His love for the Word of God always compelled him to preach the message of Salvation through Jesus Christ and to encourage others to delve deeply into the reading and study of Scripture.

Author of numerous books, including: Un tal Jesús (One Such Jesus); Cartas a Dios (Letters to God); Jesús Ejecutivo (Jesus, Executive); El mensaje de los números, dentro y fuera de la Biblia (The Message of the Numbers Within and Beyond the Bible); ¡Ahora entiendo! (Now I Understand! [Hermeneutics]); Léelo, piénsalo, vívelo (Read It, Meditate on It, and Live It).

Loving husband, father and grandfather, mentor and example to all, Luciano is survived by his wife Athala Guihur, his children Patricia, Javier and Iris, his daughter-in-law Maria, his son-in-law Edgar, and his grandchildren Maia Isabella, Jeremy, Lucas Rene and Noah Luciano.
