Manuel & Addy Perez-Feria, of Long Key, Florida passed away. Manuel & Addy were both born in Cuba. They are survived by their loving children, Annabel, Yamile, William and Richard; Grandchildren, Alberto, Marcelo and Eduardo; Manuel’s siblings, Mariana, Ibia and Jorge; Addy’s siblings, Laura, Nicolas and Raymundo and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Words can’t begin to describe how much my grandparents meant to my family and I. They were my second set of parents, and everything they did revolved around giving us the best life possible. These two angels played an enormous role in practically everything good that has ever happened to me. They always looked out for family, and never cared to take any credit for their constant good deeds.
After 60 years of marriage, my grandfather passed away peacefully asleep in his chair. My grandmother followed him two nights after. If that isn’t a fairy tale ending to a beautiful love story then I don’t know what is.
I’m truly thankful for all the love and blessings I got to enjoy during my 31 years with them. I will never forget the goofy jokes, yearly summers in the Keys, nightly domino games, never ending frustration with the Marlins, golf cart rides, endless days at the Joyería, playing pranks on my grandma, feeding us enough ice cream and snacks every night to get diabetes, fishing days out on the boat, laughing when my grandma caught a blowfish, but most of all.., I will always remember the constant, limitless, unconditional love and support that they gave us throughout the years.
