Tenecia and Steven,
I send my most sincere condolence to both of you and the Harris family.  May God provide strength and peace during these trying times.

I served under the leadership of both of your parent who happen to be friends also.  Daddy Maurice was my supervisor at the Keesler AFB, MS Safety office until his retirement.  Gen. Harris served as one of my mentors! 

I’m sure you all don’t remember me, but I remember you all!  By the way, I just reviewed some pictures of you two on an office fishing trip in the Gulf. 


I met this wonderful person just over two years ago. We both had Cuba on our bucket list. I finally visited in August just before her death. I just found out yesterday that she is gone :( 

We planned to meet again one day. Im sure we will as god is on our bucket list as well.

To the family of Marcilete, I as a former  schoolmate;  Kashmere High School, and sister;  Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,  would like to express my deepest sympathy. We are so proud of her accomplishments and her contribution to America and to the world. May you all be blessed with the grace of God as we remember her legacy. 



I did not personally know General Harris but many years ago I lived in an apartment above her future husband Maurice when he was stationed at Dow AFB in Bangor, Maine. He was a young B-52 co-pilot then.  He was an extremely nice man and I was pleased to see he had such a great marriage, career and family.  My sympathy to his children at the loss of their remarkable mother and their earlier loss of their great father. 

I remember her visiting Bergstrom Air Force base in Austin Texas in the late 80s. 
 It was the beginning of my Air Force career and my 1st time seeing an African American female officer with such a high rank.   She inspired me so much! Even though she was a distinguished visitor at that time (Like a movie star being hassled by all her fans), she was always smiling and had a humble spirit about her.
