It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Elisa Sosa-Tadros on February 5, 2026 in Miami, FL. Known to her loved ones as Maly, she completed an almost four-year journey with cancer, having faced her illness with a courage that never once dimmed.
Born on November 13, 1971 in Miami, FL, Maly lived a rich life defined by her authenticity, her tenacity, and her selfless love for those she cared about. She spent her childhood in Tegucigalpa, Honduras with her parents, Alfonso Sosa and Elisa Flores, as well as her siblings. After graduating high school, Maly packed up and moved to Miami to attend university and build her career as a psychologist, a move that showed the audacity with which she lived her life.
Maly possessed a rare and limitless generosity for those she loved. After meeting and marrying her husband Sameh in 2004, she gave up her career to care for her children. More often than not, Maly put the needs of others before her own, a fact that remained true even when she found herself bedridden. Known for her tough yet genuine love, Maly was a confidante for many of her family members and friends, cementing her role as a trusted matriarch for both her close and extended family.
Maly’s passions were as multifaceted as she was, ranging from tending to beautiful orchids to listening to a wide range of music, especially romantic ballads and 80s hits. She was a very curious individual whose sharp mind made her a lifelong learner. At the heart of everything Maly did was her faith, which remained her guiding light and her anchor until the very end. Most of all, Maly prioritized spending quality time with her loved ones. Despite facing heavy health battles, Maly always remained both optimistic and resilient, serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration to those around her.
Maly’s legacy is kept alive by her husband, Sameh Tadros, and her two sons, Nicolas and Daniel Tadros. She is also survived by two older brothers, Oscar Munguia and Alfonso Sosa, an older sister, Marta Munguia, a close sister-in-law, Marcia Sosa, and many other family members who will always cherish her memory. Maly was a light in all lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
