Marie Francoise Borgella Pierre-Louis

Marie Francoise Borgella Pierre-Louis, age 61, died with her family by her side at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL, on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 2:41AM. The cause of her death was due to Pulmonary Veno-Occlusive Disease a chronic and fatal type of pulmonary disease.

Born November 4, 1954, in Jacmel, Haiti. From Jacmel, she then moved to Port-au-Prince, where she completed her studies and married her surviving husband Serge Pierre-Louis. Being a graduate from Culinary Arts School and tailoring school, Francoise was known to do almost everything for her family. Hence her main interest included her family, cooking, gardening, sewing and reading. She also had strong interest in Pharmacology which was also her dream career. That being said Francoise was also used as the “head nurse” of her family. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to many family members, including her late great-grandmother Nelly Bastien and her late mother Derisna Borgella.

Francoise or Marie, the name called by many, was an exemplary mother for many in the family. She cared for everyone in her life, starting from her family, her friends and employees. She would always care for people’s well-being and as for the young ones; their education was her primary concern and would always make sure that they get the very best.

Francoise was full of life. She enjoyed music and dancing (when the time was right). She was a business owner until retiring in 2015.She was always on the go but would never leave her family priorities behind. She lived a very modest and exemplary life which many of her family members are proud to follow her footsteps.

She is survived by her three (3) children: Pascale Pierre-Louis; Serge Francois Pierre-Louis; Farah Elizabeth Pierre-Louis and two (2) grandchildren: Taleeyah Rose Pierre-louis & Zahirah Francoise Pierre-louis. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph David; her mother, Derisna Borgella; and her brother, Jean-Claude Jean-Charles.

Viewing service will be held at Caballero Rivero Coral Gables Funeral Home from 9am-11am on Saturday, January 23, located at 1717 SW 37th Ave Miami, FL 33145.

Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery located at 11411 NW 25th, Miami, FL 33172 from 12pm – 2pm. Burial will be held at the same location.

A reception will follow at a place to be determined from 2pm-6pm.
