Mark, I met you at your familys' Thanksgiving at Bryan and Bryer's. Prior to meeting you, I had heard so much about you from your mom Joyce, my good friend and neighbor. You were so kind and intelligent and interested in learning about me and others who attended Thanksgiving that day. Your mom always spoke about you with such pride and she would always keep me posted about what was going on in your life, such as how you loved teaching and how happy you were when you started your new job. From time to time I would see you and visit with you at your mom's house. You touched many lives and you will be missed terribly by so many. ♥️

Never was there a person who could greet you and make you feel so special. Mark was that person and will continue to be that person because to think of him is to feel that warm smile and genuine interest in any discussion that followed . To think of him will always be remembrance of his kindness and joy. His time with "us" was not wasted. Now... be at peace Mark. You are loved.

My condolences to Mark's family, especially his son. He was incredibly proud to be a dad and an educator, we are truly at a loss without him. My best memory of Mark was the respect he had for those who wanted to change their lives through education. His spirit will live on in those he impacted through his teaching and mentoring...may he rest in peace and those who live on carry his message forward.

My deepeest prayers for faith strength and Love go out to his family during this time. I was so looking forward to reconnecting one reunion but now it has to be at the pearly gates and the roads paved with gold my friend. It was truly my pleasure knowing one of the smoothest walking coolest talking classmates/teammates I and the class of 82 have ever come to have known. I still say you overthrew me in the endzone and you blew my chance to holla at KH. Lol.
Blessings and Godspeed my friend.
Love Bishop Dr. Robert L Harrison Jr.

My Dear Friend Mark,

Hearing about your crossing was unexpected and sad...
Your carefree spirit and laughs made our lives journey on earth much lighter and brighter. Our time on earth and with one another is short. The little time we had with you on this earth was a blessing...our journeys will continue and we will cross paths again sooner or later. Until then, may the angels and your loved ones on the other side be with you in heaven...
This is not goodbye... this is a see you later my dear friend!

Mark!!! I’m still in disbelief to hear the news... You always took the time to speak with me and share hilarious stories while we waited for our students to arrive to class. We were all blessed to have had such an amazing coworker like you at BMC. Your memories and silly stories will forever live! Gone but never forgotten...

Dearest Beloved of Mark,

My heart is heavy with sorrow upon hearing the news of Mark’s passing. He was a wonderful colleague for many years and we continued to communicate on Facebook sharing insights, advice, encouragement and family moments after I left the Miami area. Mark was young in age, young at heart, and a caring, compassionate man. I will pray for Mark and for all his family and friends in this time of grief. My memories of Mark are a treasure.
