To the Hernandez family, words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow I feel for the passing of Matthew. My deepest condolences to your family. I was lucky enough to have met Matthew during EMT and there are so many memorable moments I recall because he made those moments special. I admired how smart he was, his easy going and loving personality. I especially loved seeing the interactions between him and his brother Kevin. It reminded me a lot of how I am with my sisters and it was pleasant to see other siblings also sharing the same kind of love and care for one another. He will long live in my heart, in his music and in all the memorable moments we have all shared with him. May he Rest In Peace.

My deepest condolences to the Hernandez family. I had the pleasure of meeting Matthew in our EMT class. There was never a dull moment around him, he had a contagious smile and laughter. I am extremely grateful to have met such an amazing, sweet, goofy, smart and beautiful soul. I remember he’d share his songs, poems with me back when we studied for the national exam together. I felt like I got to know another side of him that I will deeply appreciate and forever miss. I’m happy he went after his dreams and created music, from a time he wasn’t so sure he had it in him to do so. He spoke about his family and the relationship, love, and admiration he had for his siblings especially his brother Kevin. May he Rest In Peace.

To the Hernandez family, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart and prayers go out to you. I met Matthew while I was in EMT school at AMA. He was then in the same paramedic class as I was! I knew he was a great person from the moment I met him. He was kind hearted, animal loving, and he had the sweetest soul. I'll never forgot the way that he called all of the guys "PAPA", and I'll definitely never forget his contagious laugh. He was an amazing person, and he will truly be missed.
