Maria Cristina,
My heart breaks for you on the loss of your beloved son Michael. I know that words will never heal the hole in your heart, but I hope that you will find some solace knowing that Michael is at peace and has moved on to be with our Savior. 
I wanted to share some words that have comforted me during times like this. It is something that the priest said at my father’s funeral many years ago. It was so simple, yet so profound. He said that life is one huge cycle. We enter the world in our mother’s womb. Everything that we need is in there. We are warm and we have not a want. But the day comes for us to be born into this world. And it is scary… and we must learn new things. But eventually we find comfort and joy here. And before we know it, it is time for us to be born again into the afterlife… a new journey that shows us how we will find our way and our purpose. The hardest part about this journey is for those that are left behind.   Their hearts ache and it takes time to find peace with their absence.
Criss, I pray for you and hope that time is kind to your heart and brings you sweet memories in place of sadness.

I am so sorry for your loss. Michael was such an amazing, sweet, and loving person. He brought so much joy to our hospital. He will truly be missed.

I was incredibly saddened to hear of Michael's passing and am struggling to put into words how sorry I am for your loss.  Although I had not spoken to Michael in quite some time, I can vividly recall our years together at Saints Peter and Paul and the kind of person that Michael was. Michael was always so kind to everyone around him, always willing to lend a listening ear. He made those around him feel welcome and was always so unapologetically himself-- he knew who he was and what he liked and was proud of it. I always admired these qualities in him and still do to this day.  

May Michael's memory live on in the hearts and thoughts of those whose lives he touched with his smile and optimism. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.



Our deepest condolences to you and the family. The longest walk “Home” that any parent will ever take is the one after their child has “run” ahead of them. May God help you find peace and faith knowing you will reunite with him again.

Michael was an amazing human. He put others before himself in every aspect of his life. I was lucky to become a good friend of his through work but our friendship extended far beyond that. He was there during an extremely difficult time in my life and he always offered his time and positive attitude to help me through it.  Michael and I spent countless nights at the bars where he would belt out karaoke songs and put on a great show. I never did get up to sing and I will always regret that. I thought I would get one last chance. Michael, you are and were the light of so many lives. Shine on and rest easy. You will be missed and never forgotten.

I only worked with Michael a short time, but I will always remember his passion working with dogs and cats. He was so gentle and always wanted to help them not to be afraid. He was able to calm some of the most fearful cats and dogs, while avoiding being bitten or scratched! He always came  to work with a smile! Rest In Peace, Michael! I am very sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to get to know Micheal though work  while he was in Oregon. His positive attitude and willingness to help made and excellent friend. His kind and caring disposition made him wonderful with all animals. He will me missed dearly by many.

     I almost don’t know what to say...this is just so unbelievably sad...as a parent myself, I feel how weak and fuitless must be any words that could attemp to have any possibility of relieving you of such an overwhelming loss...
     I pray to our Heavenly Father that your pain and suffering be lifted swiftly and that the beautiful memory of your beloved young Michael will forever bring you the peace and serenity of knowing that he now resides in a place much more beautiful than his own birth...a place of a beauty that is far beyond our earthly comprehension, and place where he is now embraced by the eternal  Peace and Love of our Heavenly Father

Michael was probably the most amazing person I’ve ever met. He always had a positive outlook on life no matter what was happening. He was the best friend I could ever ask for. I did not have much time with him but what we shared is something I will hold in my heart for the rest of my life. I am so sorry for your loss. Michael will be missed but certainly never forgotten. I love him so much. 

I’m so, so sorry for the loss of your son Michael. What a great loss and what unimaginable pain you must have in your heart. May God watch over his soul and comfort you in these dark moments. May he rest in eternal peace in the presence of the Lord.

I only know of Hansel Medina through a mutual friend. But judging by the company he kept he was a man of great character and the world is now darker without him in it. My deepest condolences 🙏.

As a mother I can’t imagine the pain you are feeling. All I can say is that I am praying to God to give you the strength and the peace to keep moving forward. I want you to know that you have a friend in me and that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sending hugs.
