Mige,

So how do I start a memory about you? Well you are in every memory I have as a child and young man. I remember when I first met you you. I was riding my skateboard and decided to try and go down a flight of stairs from the second story of our apartment building. I remember you telling that story and saying “Oh my god, he is trying to go down stairs on a skateboard!” The look on your face was priceless. Thank you for taking care of my mother and our family. I will miss you dearly, especially the smile on your face. Love you Mige. 

Mi madre, hermana y yo tenemos grandes e inolvidables recuerdos de nuestro padrino Miguel Álvarez que nunca olvidaremos y lleváremos en nuestros corazones. El No solo fue nuestro padrino fue un gran amigo,  el y mi madrina Sara Alvarez nos criaron desde pequeños Con RESPETÓ,AMOR y CARIÑO.  lo recordaremos siempre. 

Mi memoria de Migue es que siempre fue el mejor esposo, buen padre, y buen abuelo. Siempre lo voy a llevar en mi corazón y en mis pensamientos.  Te quiero mucho Migue....

My grandpa will always be in my heart. I have nothing but wonderful memories of him full of laughter and love. I loved when he used to tell me stories of how he would sit me on the counter when I was little and cook for me. He used to say I was such a good baby and would give him no trouble. He was the most amazing chef, I always credit him to being the one who taught me how to have an appetite. I remember he took me to McDonald’s once and said I couldn’t get a happy meal because it wasn’t enough food! But my favorite memories are of him and my grandma interacting on a daily basis. They were so funny together. I will always miss his laugh and his quirkiness. But most of all I will miss how sweet and loving he was to me.  He is the only grandpa I’ve ever known and will always be my mampy. I love you forever. 

The memories that I have of Miguel Alvarez are of him raising my brother Jose and I, as well as, being a wonderful husband to my mother. Not only did he do that, but he also shared wonderful times with my children  (Daniel, Diana, Isabella, and Adrian) who only know him as a grandfather. In my heart I feel very content that I got to take care of him for three years before he went into the hands of God.  I thank him for being good to my mother and all of us, I will miss him tremendously.  

Mi abuelito adorado, el único que yo tuve siempre, cuanto voy a extrañar todos tus chistes y la carne con papa que hacías con tanto amor. Nadie cocina como tú. Como quisiera haber podido estar contigo aguantándote la manito como siempre te gustaba. O darte una galletica escondida de abuela. Siempre fuiste un abuelo cariñoso y así siempre te recordaré. Te amo mucho y gracias por dejarme tu manilla de Obatalá. Me la diste para que sintiera paz. La voy a cuidar para siempre. Se que cuando me la pongo estas conmigo. Te amo mucho, Dianita

Hey was a good man always took care of my grandmother and loved us very much. From chasing me around with a broom for doing something i shouldn't have to putting vicks on my chest when i was sick. He raised me and was a father figure and i will always love him and see him soon.
