November 28, 1937 – July 10, 2026
With hearts full of both sorrow and hope, we celebrate the life of Mirtha “Yaya” Prieto, who peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 10, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on November 28, 1937, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, Mirtha lived a life defined by unwavering faith, steadfast love, and selfless service. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ whose life reflected His grace in both word and deed. For more than two decades, she faithfully served her church family at Spring of Life, where she was known as a woman of prayer, compassion, and quiet strength. Her deep love for the Lord shaped every aspect of her life and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Mirtha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Blas Prieto, with whom she now rejoices in the presence of the Lord. Their marriage was marked by enduring love, faithfulness, and a shared commitment to Christ and their family.
Above all else, Mirtha cherished her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother whose greatest joy was seeing those she loved gathered together. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian, (Fred) and her son, Blas (Mabel); her grandchildren, Blas, Freddy, (Nicole) Blake, (Ashley) David, (Malin) Joshua, Alexis, Kaleigh, and Christian; and her treasured great-granddaughters, Mila, Marcella, and Audrey.
Mirtha will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, gentle spirit, and the countless prayers she faithfully lifted on behalf of her family and friends. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to Christ will continue to inspire generations to come.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Her race has been run, her faith has become sight, and she now rests in perfect peace with her Savior.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your master.” — Matthew 25:23
