Miami, FL – Olga Maria Zogaib Zarruk, 96, our beloved angel here on earth, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 1, 1929, in Managua, Nicaragua, to Juan Zarruk and Angelita Cahuas and was the last of her six siblings to leave us. She was predeceased by her husband, Elias Zogaib, her twin sons, Elias Rafael and Julian Zogaib, and her grandson, James Zogaib. She is survived by her children, Carmen, Juan Jose, Angelita, and Maria de Lourdes; her nineteen cherished grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and her first great-great-granddaughter, who was able to meet her “Site” in her final days.
Olga was our beacon, our shining light who guided us through life with her unwavering faith and love for Christ and the Virgin Mary. Her life was not easy, but her heart overflowed with love for her family. She taught us how to persevere and treat others with kindness, patience, and compassion through her example. She had a great love of roses and cherished cultivating her garden. We fondly remember her countless canaries, whose cheerful songs were the soundtrack of our formative years.
Olga's other great passion was cooking for the entire family. Preparing meals wasn’t just a daily task for her; it was an expression of love and tradition. Every dish she prepared, especially the time-honored Lebanese recipes passed down through generations, was crafted with extraordinary attention and care. The rich aromas of garlic, lemon, and spices would fill the house, drawing everyone to the kitchen before they even saw the food. Her tabbouleh, kibbeh, and stuffed grape leaves weren’t just meals, they were memories in the making, infused with the warmth and generosity that defined her spirit.
Her heart was pure, and she always shared words of comfort and faith in our times of need. We will always remember her witty sense of humor, beautiful countenance, and sweet smile. Though her absence leaves us heartbroken, we find comfort in the promise of reuniting with her in God's Kingdom. May she rest in peace.
