Pastor Felipe Gonzalez

Pastor Felipe Gonzalez, 48, of Miami, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 30, 2024. A beloved husband, father, son, and servant of God, Felipe’s life was a testament to faith, love, and unwavering devotion.

Felipe was born on May 16, 1976, in Pinar del Río, Cuba, to Justo Pastor Gonzalez and Gladys Victoria Garcia. At the age of 19, in 1995, he came to know the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his Savior, a decision that forever changed the course of his life. Just one year later, at the age of 20, Felipe arrived in the United States of America, the land of freedom and opportunity.

On May 10, 1997, Felipe’s life was further blessed when he joined a group from his church to welcome the pastor’s family, newly arrived from Cuba, at the airport. Among them was Magela, the woman who would soon capture his heart. Their love story began that day and culminated in their union on October 16, 1999. Together, they built a beautiful life and a family filled with love, raising four wonderful children: Marcos, Sofia, Emilia, and Lucia.

Felipe was a man of great intellect and determination. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management from Florida International University. However, his proudest achievements were not his academic or professional accolades, but the legacy of faith, love, and kindness he left behind.

A devoted servant of the Lord, Felipe dedicated his life to sharing the gospel and serving others. His ministry touched many lives, and his steadfast faith and lighthearted humor were contagious to those around him.

Outside of his ministry, Felipe cherished life’s simple joys. He was a passionate New York Yankees fan, relishing every game with the enthusiasm of a true devotee. He adored his wife’s cooking, especially her tostones and spaghetti carbonara, which brought him endless delight. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, the greatest treasure of his earthly life.

Felipe is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Magela; his children, Marcos, Sofia, Emilia, and Lucia; his devoted parents; siblings; extended family; and countless friends, coworkers, and brothers and sisters in Christ who were blessed to know him. His unwavering faith, warm smile, and gentle spirit will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

While we grieve the loss of Felipe, we take comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Savior, whom he loved and served with all his heart. His life was a reflection of God’s love, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who carry his memory.

Felipe nació el 16 de mayo de 1976 en Pinar del Río, Cuba, hijo de Justo Pastor Gonzalez y Gladys Victoria Garcia. A los 19 años, en 1995, conoció al Señor Jesucristo y lo aceptó como su Salvador, una decisión que cambió el curso de su vida para siempre. Solo un año después, a los 20 años, Felipe llegó a los Estados Unidos de América, la tierra de la libertad y las oportunidades.

El 10 de mayo de 1997, la vida de Felipe fue aún más bendecida cuando se unió a un grupo de su iglesia para dar la bienvenida en el aeropuerto a la familia del pastor, recién llegada de Cuba. Entre ellos estaba Magela, la mujer que pronto conquistaría su corazón. Su historia de amor comenzó ese día y culminó en su unión el 16 de octubre de 1999. Juntos construyeron una vida hermosa y una familia llena de amor, criando a cuatro maravillosos hijos: Marcos, Sofía, Emilia y Lucía.

Felipe era un hombre de gran intelecto y determinación. Obtuvo una licenciatura en ingeniería civil y una maestría en gestión de ingeniería de Florida International University. Sin embargo, sus logros más orgullosos no fueron sus títulos académicos ni profesionales, sino el legado de fe, amor y bondad que dejó atrás.

Un siervo devoto del Señor, Felipe dedicó su vida a compartir el evangelio y servir a los demás. Su ministerio tocó muchas vidas, y su constante fe y su sentido del humor contagioso inspiraban a quienes lo rodeaban.

Fuera de su ministerio, Felipe apreciaba las simples alegrías de la vida. Era un apasionado fanático de los Yankees de Nueva York y disfrutaba de cada juego con el entusiasmo de un verdadero devoto. Adoraba la cocina de su esposa, especialmente sus tostones y espaguetis a la carbonara, que siempre le deleitaban. Por encima de todo, amaba pasar tiempo con su familia, el mayor tesoro de su vida terrenal.

Felipe deja atrás a su amada esposa por 25 años, Magela; a sus hijos, Marcos, Sofía, Emilia y Lucía; a sus padres devotos; a sus hermanos; a su familia extendida; y a innumerables amigos, compañeros de trabajo y hermanos y hermanas en Cristo que fueron bendecidos al conocerlo. Su constante fe, su cálida sonrisa y su espíritu gentil serán profundamente extrañados pero nunca olvidados.

Aunque lloramos la pérdida de Felipe, encontramos consuelo al saber que ahora está en la presencia de su Salvador, a quien amó y sirvió con todo su corazón. Su vida fue un reflejo del amor de Dios, y su legado continuará inspirando a quienes llevan su memoria.
