Phillip Wittman Schemer, 65, passed away on April 10, 2017, in Miami, Florida. He was born on March 5, 1952, in Coral Gables, Florida, to Alita Ruth and Max Schemer. He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Sharon Schemer, his daughter, Ashley, sisters Patti Anzalone (Philip) and Laura Brake (Ben), and many adoring nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his eldest sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Arnold Cohen, and his eldest nephew, Robbie Cohen.
While he attended Miami Senior High School, he was selected as a congressional page for Congressman Dante B. Fascell. After graduating in 1970, he attended the University of Florida in Gainesville. That was where he met Sharon, who was little sister for his fraternity, Pi Lambda Phi for which he was social chairman. They were married in 1975.
Flip worked in the travel industry and later managed bowling lanes. Always an avid bowler, Flip was elected president of the Greater Miami USBC Association and later, unanimously voted President Emeritus. Additionally he was elected to the GMUSBC Hall of Fame for his outstanding service.
Flip will be missed by his entire family, his many friends, and his little doggie kids, Baby and Sooki.
