Dr. Miguel was a great Pain Management Fellowship Director and just all around great guy. He was a no nonsense, straight forward communicator and excellent hands on instructor for procedures. As a pain management fellow I appreciated his guidance and the experience that I gained through his program. I am terribly saddened to only recently learn of his passing.

It is with deepest sympathy and respect that I am writing these words of farewell to my mentor, professor and friend Dr. Rafael Miguel. He will always be remembered as a generous and kind soul. Always supporting the younger generations of doctors and fellows that followed his path looking up to him for his mentorship and great fount of knowledge and expertise. He was a major instrument in helping me reach my goals as a physician. I share the sorrow and loss that he has left behind. My prayers are with his family and loved ones and those who considered him a friend. May he rest in peace.

some of my most fondest and dearest memories, professionally and personally, include you and Rafael. Not only was he a mentor and friend but a guiding light in some of my most desperate and darkest times. I will always share the sorrow of his loss with you and the girls. My family and I are better persons today because of our relationship with you and Rafael.

I am so sorry for your loss. I served at the AMA with Rafael. He was always so insightful and had a way with people that was unmatched. He was a kind man whose primary focus was his family. His face would light up when he spoke about his wife, daughters and mother. I feel blessed to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace.
