Rene Monteagudo, Jr. passed away on January 27, 2022 at the age of 82, in Miami, Florida. Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Rene traveled the United States as a child with his parents while his father played professional baseball. He became a U.S. Citizen in 1966 and took advantage of every opportunity this country has to offer.
He became an insurance salesman and started a successful insurance agency. Though a quiet man, his laugh always filled the room. He loved being active by playing baseball, softball and squash. His struggle with serious medical issues in recent years slowed him down but he faced his challenges with strength and courage. He was the strongest person we knew. Never wanting to worry anyone about how he was doing, he always said he was “fine” despite the realities of his situation.
Rene was the most loyal and trusting person one could ever find. No matter the situation or circumstance he was on your side. He is survived by his wife Zoila, and his children Ivette Montalvo, Rene Monteagudo, Eric Monteagudo and five grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Love you!
