Ronald Stanmore Walker (a.k.a. Daddy, Ronnie, Pa) was born on October 17, 1932, in Catadupa, St. James Jamaica, W.I. He was the only child of Gertrude Atkins.
Ronnie spent most of his childhood years with his Aunt Dolly who was a school principal. He was brought up in the Anglican (same as Episcopal in America) and remained on this path throughout his life. After completing Elementary education, Ronnie attended Kingston Technical High School and then went next to the College of Arts, Science & Technology (CAST) where he earned a Certificate in Education. He next secured a Teaching job in Frome Secondary School.
While at Frome he met and married Aneita (Mommy) - the love of his life. They both had 3 remarkable children from the union – Cheronne, Christine and Dave. He also had a daughter from a former relationship – Yvonne.
Ronnie, affectionately called “Pa” by his family was a caring and faithful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, who was adored by his family and loved and respected by his friends. He was very supportive and assisted in the nurturing and upbringing of Stepdaughter Beverly and Niece Denese (another Stepdaughter). Beverly’s close friends Jolly and her husband Ray became a part of the family and were constantly in contact and extending support over the years.
In 1963 Ronnie and family relocated from Westmoreland to Kingston where he secured a teaching position at St. Andrew Technical High School (STATS). Later he was awarded a scholarship to study at Jordan Hill College in Scotland and received a Diploma in Technical Education from that college. After leaving Scotland he returned to his teaching position at STATS. Ronnie was academically focused, and he decided to continue his studies at Oswego State University in New York where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He next secured a Vice Principal opportunity at Pembroke Hall Secondary School until he retired from teaching in 1985.
Next, Ronnie migrated to New Jersey, USA with his family and he and Aneita became active members of Christ Church in East Orange, NJ. Ronnie was still young and decided to stay active and worked in the Manufacturing Industry sector for the next 19yrs before permanently retiring and relocating to Florida in 2003.
Ronnie, being the active guy he was, could not sit still and he and Aneita became members of the Church of Ascencion in South Miami. He served as an Usher at the church and participated in multiple ministry groups. He was a member of Pastoral Care, The Brotherhood of At. Andrew, ECM - Episcopal Church Man, and Affirmative Agent Ministry Seniors group. He and Aneita were also both gym instructors for the Affirmative Aging Fitness program.
As Ronnie aged his health began to decline but he was still upbeat last August when he and Aneita celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. His health got worse in the last couple of weeks and rapidly deteriorated until he peacefully departed this life on September 22nd, 2025.
He is sadly missed by his Wife Aneita, 6 children (Beverly, Yvonne, Cheronne, Christine, Dave, Denese), 6 Grandchildren (Mica, Danielle, Dylan, Crystal, Hailee, Tonianne), 1 Great-Grandson (Kingston), relatives and friends.
Until we meet again Pa, Daddy, Ronnie….. RIP and may God’s perpetual light shine upon you.
The Family of the late Ronald S, Walker wishes to express sincere gratitude to everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy and loving support.
