In Loving Memory of Victor Manuel Otero

Victor Manuel Otero, 85, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, in Miami, Florida, after an illness.

Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Victor moved with his family to New York City in 1947, where he grew up and began a life defined by hard work, resilience, and devotion to family.

Following high school, Victor proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country with honor. After his military service, he built a successful career in the transportation industry, where he held numerous leadership roles and earned the respect of colleagues throughout his many years of service.

In 1961, Victor married the love of his life, Mirta Otero. Together, they shared 64 years of marriage. In 1985, they settled in Miami, Florida, where they created a home filled with warmth and lasting memories.

Victor found great joy in supporting his family, especially his five grandchildren. He was a proud and devoted grandfather who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on at their sporting events. He was also an avid fan of the Miami Heat and the Miami Dolphins.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mirta Otero; his children, Audrey Otero (Jerry Hernandez), Mike Otero (Stacey), and Arlene Lee; and his grandchildren, Steven Norton, Brian Lee, Jonathan Lee, Cathryn Otero, and Emily Otero. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Randy Lee.

A private family burial will be held on March 31 in Miami, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Miami Cancer Institute:
