I met and worked with Xenia on the 1990 Census. She was an enumerator who went to houses which did not respond to the mailings. Xenia was a very hard no nonsense worker. Some nights I would accompany her for safety reasons. Some people were uncooperative but she didn’t give up. One time a lady tried to slam the door and she put her foot in it and ended up getting the interview. I found out she was a neighbor of mine, we lived in the same block. Small world. She was also a hair stylist and cut my hair for several years after. We became friends and I have very fond memories of her. She’s in Heaven now with total peace. Thank you Xenia for a job well done.

I had the pleasure of working with Xenia on the 1990 Census. She was also a neighbor I didn’t know. What a lady she was. Very hard working and diligent. She would not take no for an answer. Sometimes she would work at night to see people after work and I would accompany her for safety. I remember someone tried to shut the door on her and she put her foot in it and got the interview. She became my barber for several years until she closed her shop. It was a pleasure knowing her and many great memories. Bless you my friend, Rest in peace. 

I was fortunate enough to meet Xenia during the 1990 census. She was one of the hardest working people I ever knew and if there was a difficult job she would complete it every time. 
Later she was my lady barber for years and a friend. 
It was a joy to know her. 

My deep condolences to the Chapelli Family.  Xenia was a faithful woman who had a strong mind with the kindest heart.  She always spoke so highly of her “children” Maria and Armandito and her grandchildren, remembering a birthday or graduation.  Her love of cooking, had her sending her friends home with a new dish to try or making a favorite. She always kept us in her prayers and now we will keep her in ours. Rest In Peace. We will miss you.

My deepest condolences to the Chapelli family, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. I was fortunate to know Xenia for over thirty years and will miss her very much. She will be  remembered by us all for her many gestures of kindness.

Xenia was a friend and inspiration to me and to many. She was a brilliant , wise, fun, creative and giving person. Until the end, she had more energy and zest for living than many people half her age.  I will miss her. My condolences to all, and may her memory be a blessing.
