Arthur Eugene “Artie” Gullett, 73, of Dayton, went to be with Jesus on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born September 24, 1945 in Miamisburg, the son of Arthur W. and Mabel (Sloan) Gullett. Artie attended Miamisburg High School. He retired as a Captain at the Miamisburg Fire Department and was a member of the Miamisburg First Baptist Church. In Artie’s spare time he was a musician and a song writer. But more than anything else, he was a family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol Gullett; daughter, Lora (Cecil) Sanders; son, Donald Gullett; grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) Sowder, Alyssa Sanders and Jacob Sanders; great grandson, Sam Sowder; as well as his nephew, Doug (Bonnie) Smith. Artie was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carole Smith. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12 – 1 PM on Friday 22, 2019 at Miamisburg First Baptist Church, 323 N. Eleventh St., Miamisburg, OH 45342. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 PM with Pastor Stephen Spurgin officiating. Burial will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg.
