

Asen “Sonny” Kristoff, 88, of Moraine, passed away on May 16, 2026. Born on February 17, 1938, in Springfield, Ohio, Sonny was the son of Alexander and Evdokea (Petroff) Kristoff, who were both immigrants from Macedonia. Throughout his life, he carried forward a steady respect for faith.
Sonny graduated from South High School in Springfield in 1956. He devoted his working years to the local music and retail community as owner and operator of Music City Record Store, Hallmark House, Buckeye Records, and Warehouse Records, all in Springfield, and he developed “The Knockers.” His days were also marked by simple, enduring enjoyments—playing tennis, boating, and faithfully attending church and Bible studies. Sonny also enjoyed traveling, gardening, photography and developing his own pictures.
He is survived by his children, James, Cynthia, Jeffrey, and Patrick Kristoff, and Sheila Riedel; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; niece, Melissa and nephew, Stephen. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Kristoff; grandson, Kyle Matthew Harris; and his wife, Angie Mascardo.
Sonny will be buried next to his family at Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield.
