Barbara A. Shade

Barbara lived with a steady devotion to the people she loved and the work she took on each day. Her generosity was felt in the simple, lasting ways she cared for others, and her hard-working spirit showed through in the many roles she filled for her family and home. She enjoyed helping people and found particular comfort in cooking for those around her.

In addition to the ways she served others, Barbara took pride in supporting her husband, Ron, including helping him with his racehorses. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and she treasured the moments that brought everyone together.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ron Shade; children, Angie (John) Schafer, Theresa (Tim) Steele, Erica Shade (Aaron Campbell); grandchildren; Ashley (Mikey), Margaret, Abby (Colt), and Charlie; great grandchildren, Austin, Levi, Aubrie, Leigha, Violet Ann; siblings, John, Bonnie, Richard, Mark; brothers-in-law, Donald (Sandy) and Zane; sister-in-law, Susan (Paul); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Jackie; nephews, Tony, Craig, and Brady; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Irene Shade; brother-in-law, Harold; and sisters-in-law, Arlene and Karen.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11 am.
