Bettye "Lucille" McAfee

McAfee, Bettye “Lucille”, age 78 of Miamisburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, December 15, 2013 at her residence. She was born June 25, 1935 in Claiborne, TN to the late Birdie “Marshall” and Lula Bell (McMurray) Cheek. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arnold McAfee (1994); her son, Winston Clyde McAfee (1993); 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her children, Robert (Debbie) McAfee of Miamisburg, Dennis (Sonya) McAfee of Grand Junction, CO, Yvonne (Johnny) Legate of Shelbyville, TN, Theresa (Ron) Burgess of Trotwood, OH and Dale (Lisa) McAfee of Olatha, KS; grandchildren, Kelly, Shane, Devin, Johnny, Justin, Jennie, Ronnie and Ryan; several great grandchildren; siblings, James Cheek, Bill Cheek, Dorothy Cosby, Ann Doll, Marshall Cheek and Jimmy Cheek as well as numerous other extended family and friends. Lucille dedicated the majority of her life to her family as a homemaker. She also worked for 35 years as a babysitter for many families and in the process she became affectionately known to all in her care as “Grandma Cille”. Lucille was a member of Miamisburg First Church of God and loved to cook and listen to country music. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Roy Maxwell. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg.
