

Carol Jean Leist was born on August 3, 1936, and died on November 13, 2025, at home in Miamisburg, Ohio at the age of 89. She was the oldest daughter of nine children born to Delbert and Adeline Pierce.
A 1954 graduate of Miamisburg High School, Carol married her loving husband of 69 years, Norman, on October 6, 1956, and devoted her life to her family including her six children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren always with the intent of providing opportunities to broaden their experiences and pursue their dreams.
Carol was a sports enthusiast who played softball up until the age of 65, an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, the Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes, she played golf, and for many years she coached volleyball and kickball at St. Henry’s Catholic School. She also had a passion for sewing, upholstery work, crocheting, and cake decorating.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Barney, Donald, Jerry, Art, and Mike, as well as her son-in-law, John McNeely. She is survived by her husband Norman and their six children, Gaylynn (Jim) Robinson, Terri McNeely Leist, Thomas Leist, Nannette (Mark) Baker, Michele (Doug) Hoog, and Lori (Mark) Mullins; her grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Taylor, Rebecca (Randy) Williams, Erin (Will) Schneider, Megan Leist, Jordan (Haley) Baker, Travis Baker, Mitch Hoog, Ben (Morgan) Hoog, Mackenzie Hoog, Sam Mullins, and Olivia Mullins; and her great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Jordan and Rian Taylor, Mason and Allie Williams, Avery and Jackson Schneider, Emmett and Weston Baker, and Saylor, Campbell, and Parker Hoog. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Maley, Marcia (Ron) Barnhart, and Debbie (Tony) Rose, sisters-in-law Joy Pierce and Lee Pierce, Goddaughters Becky McCord and Christine Maggard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden Ave., Miamisburg, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 4:30-7 pm, and there will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6939 Weaver Rd., Germantown. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 723 Upper Miamisburg Rd., Miamisburg.
