

HOBBS, Charley T. “Chuck”, age 58 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Sycamore Hospital following a long illness. Chuck was born July 10, 1959 in Norton, Virginia to Dayton C. Hobbs of Virginia and Bobbi Sue (Scarborough) Rosell of Miamisburg. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Hank and Ada Florek. In addition to his parents, Chuck is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon A. (Florek) Hobbs; children, Jannifer Johnson, Julie Hobbs and Jonathan Hobbs, all of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Kristen, Gabe and Aiden; daughter-in-law to be, Lindsey Tobias; step-father, Judd Rosell; siblings, Dayton Robert Hobbs of Dayton and Crystal Lucas of West Virginia; in-laws, Pam Marcum of Beavercreek, Robert (Tami) Florek of Hillsboro and Laura (Tim) Joliat of Dayton; many nieces and nephews; his best friend, James Hammer and his dogs, Brady and Snickers. Chuck attended Stebbins High School Class of 1977. He served honorably for the U.S. Navy and after his tour studied at Wright State University. Chuck eventually completed a degree in communications from CBI. He worked for many years as a programming director for Channel 45 before acquiring an automation clerk position for USPS. Chuck had a passion for sports as a fan and a coach. He volunteered for Miamisburg Youth League basketball, baseball and football for over 10 years and followed his beloved Buckeyes, Browns and Reds for a lifetime. Chuck loved spending time with his family and dogs; he loved being a father and travelled as much as possible with his wife. He enjoyed frequent poker games with friends and in tournaments. Chuck will always be remembered as a dedicated family man with a heart of gold and his passion for competition. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, December 8, 2017 officiated by Dignity Celebrant, Deb Holder also at the funeral home. A procession will follow for burial at Dayton Memorial Park.
