Clara Hensley

Better known as, Sister Clara went on to be with the Lord Friday, November 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by husband, Henry L. Hensley; a brother, Charles Joseph Wendling Jr.; sister, Virginia Sullivan, and her mother and father, Clara and Charles Wendling. She leaves behind a beloved brother, Thomas L. Wendling; a son, Ronald L. Hensley; 3 daughters, Patricia Hensley, Tawnya Greene, Vicki Cooper; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In 1983 around this time 30 years ago she founded,The Mission of Mercy, a place that anyone and everyone could find comfort of any kind that this world would put before them, especially love. She was called Grandma by many, Mom by many and a multitude of friends that loved her and was deeply loved by. We, her family would like to thank each and every one that ever gave a dollar, or an hour of their time to help make her lifelong dream come true. To her lifelong friends that stood beside her for over 50 years, Edith Bolden, Betty Garrett and Betty Hale, our hats off to you. We watched our Mother as she would sit at the front door of the Mission just waiting for someone or anyone to walk through the door with a need of any kind. Excitement would bubble up inside of her. She never grew tired and each person was a new adventure for her. We soon realized that our Mother had found something that I will seek to have. Our Mother didn’t see a person standing before her; she saw a soul for she was looking through the eyes of God. “Thank You” from the Hensley’s. Friends and family may visit from 6-8 pm on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Miamisburg Assembly of God, 501 North Ninth St. Miamisburg, Ohio 45342. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 30, also at the church with Pastor Lamar Cooper officiating. Interment following at Hillgrove Cemetery.
