She was born November 6, 1935 to Wilmetta Irby Hawkins and Silas Ernest Hawkins in Rosiclare, Illinois. After graduating from high school, Creta relocated to Dayton, Ohio, where shortly afterwards, she became employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She worked at WPAFB until her marriage to Othal James "Jim" Sharp, with whom she enjoyed a long, happy marriage.
Most of Creta's years were spent as a homemaker. She lovingly devoted herself to her family, gladly served her church, Miamisburg Christian Church, while she was able, and was a faithful caretaker to her mother for many years. She was well liked, always open to chatting with family and friends, and kept her wittiness and sense of humor until the end.
Creta is survived by her children, Michael (Becky) Sharp and Debbie (Allan) Faber; grandchildren, Jamie (Chris) Baruxes, Joshua Andrew (Cindy) Sharp, Mary (Roy) Senters, Margaret Walters, Phyllis (Chris) Burns, and Jared Faber; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bryce, Justin, Mackenzie, Colby, Conner, Kaitlyn, Victoria, Haley, Deanna, Logan, Chelsie, and Liam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of many wonderful years, Jim Sharp; parents, Wilmetta and Ernest Hawkins; brother, Charles Hawkins; granddaughter, Michelle Sharp; great-grandson, Micah Crawford.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12 – 1 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at GEBHART-SCHMDIT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM. Burial will take place at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg.
