

NEFF, Daniel Sr., age 84 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton following a lengthy illness. He was born August 16, 1932 in New Carlisle to the late Robert C. and Mary Marcy (Johnson) Neff and attended school in Fairborn, OH. Daniel served his country in the US Army for three years during the Korean War and shortly after married, Phyllis R. Jenkins. While they raised their family in Miamisburg, Dan worked for the Oxford Paper Mill of West Carrollton (Miami Paper Co.) Before retirement, he was employed by J. W. Security as a guard. Dan was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman and possessed acumen for the great outdoors. Dan enjoyed regularly sharing his bounty with family and friends. He loved gardening in his spare time as well. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis in 1989; daughter, Kathy Watson and a half-brother, Andrew Johnson. Daniel is survived by his son, Daniel (Connie) Neff of Trotwood; grandchildren, Erin, Anna, Justine, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Melissa, Allisha, and Lisa; many great grandchildren and siblings, Freeda (Charles) Sprinkles of Texas, Lillie Bratti of Missouri, Leo (Jill-Ann) of Kettering, Bill of Virginia, Foy of Fairborn and Raymond of Georgia. Services are private at the convenience of the family and Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville will serve as Dan’s final resting place.
