

Age 78 of Miamisburg, Ohio passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on November 21, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Irvin and Nancy Jane (McQueen) Blake. Also preceding him in death are brothers, Robert Blake, Byron Blake, Bruce Blake and Tyrone Blake. Don is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ethel (Parrett) Blake; son and daughter-in-law, Jack (Laura) Blake; daughter and son-in-law, Christa (Paul) Barlow; grandchildren, Grace Barlow, James Blake; great-grandson, Jake Blake; step daughters, Carole (Keith) Gower, Debby (Bradley) Boomershine; sister and brothers-in-law, Lois (Bill) Sponsel, Sharon (Lester) Hollon; his brother and sister-in-law, Art (Cathy) Blake and his beloved Beagle, “Rusty”. He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years on JFK’s honor guard. Don was quite an accomplished guitar player and Blue Grass singer and loved old western movies. He retired from the City of Middletown road crew and was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church, Franklin. Friends and family may visit from 12:30-2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 East Linden Ave. Miamisburg, Ohio 45342. A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, also at the funeral home with Pastor Tyrone Blake officiating. Interment following at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
