Dorothy J. Anslinger

Age 92, of Miamisburg, Ohio, died Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Heartland of Miamisburg. Dorothy was born August 21, 1922 to Herman and Goldie (Smith) Eshbaugh and married Daniel V. Anslinger on August 27, 1941. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Dan, sister Thelma Shaffer, and brothers Harold, Robert, and Melvin Eshbaugh. She is survived by her children, Lynda Ball and Ronald (Jeanne) Anslinger, and close niece Marcia (Rich) Weidner and their daughter Laura (Liam); four grandchildren: Michelle (Julie), Bryan (April), Brent (Amy), Bryce (Emily); and five great-grandchildren: Avery, Addison, Oakley, Austen, and Brooks; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy graduated from Miamisburg High School in 1940. She was employed for many years as a cook at H.V. Bear School. She was in Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls as Mother Advisor, Girl Scouts as Leader, and a member of Parkview United Methodist Church. On Monday, January 12, family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30am at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home in Miamisburg with a celebration of Dorothy’s life at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association 4555 Lake Forest Dr. Suite # 396 Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
