He was born on December 27, 1937, in Dayton, OH to the late Robert W. and Mary Alberta (Martz) Rettich.
Doug was one of the first scouts in over 20 years to earn Eagle Scout status in Germantown. He graduated in 1955 from Germantown High School. He then attended University of Cincinnati and became an engineer.
Doug married Judy Uhrich from Miamisburg, OH on May 1, 1971. Upon marriage, they moved to Cincinnati where they built their lives together. He enjoyed reading the newspaper every day, especially the comics and cartoons. Doug was an avid Cincinnati Reds, UC Bearcats basketball, and Cincinnati Bengals fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Judy Rettich; two brothers, Bill Rettich and Tom Rettich; and son-in-law, Corby Ratliff.
Doug is survived by his children, Marty Ratliff, and Douglas "Tony" Jr. (Beth) Rettich; grandchildren, Douglas Rettich III, Rachel Rettich, Corby Ratliff; and four great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family & friends will be from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Friday, November 20, 2026, at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden Ave. Miamisburg, OH 45342. A funeral service will be at 12:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Hout officiating. Burial will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg.
