Edgar Hurt

HURT, EDGAR, age 93 of Miamisburg passed away on Friday December 31, 2021 at Sycamore Hospital. He was born on February 29, 1928 in Murphy Fork, Morgan County Kentucky to James Witten and Nanny (Phillips) Hurt. He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings James Robert Hurt, Lillian Monelle (Hurt) Baker, Christine (Hurt) Murray, Elmer Edwin Hurt, John Aldwin Hurt, Fern (Hurt) Perry, Thomas Cecil Hurt and Wincie Elwood Hurt. He married Virginia (Stamper) Hurt on October 30, 1948, and she survives in Miamisburg. Also surviving are his brother, Fred Walden Hurt of Lebanon, OH and his sister Loretta Jane (Hurt) Cable, of York PA. His sons, Eddie (Mary) Hurt, Rick (Judy) Hurt and Jeff (Sheri) Hurt, all of Miamisburg, OH. He has 7 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Edgar attended Ezel High School in Kentucky. He worked as a Supervisor for several paper companies, including Sorg Paper, Bergestrom Paper and Miami Paper Company. He founded the Ranch Paper Company in 1975 and worked there until 1993. He attended Franklin 1st Church of God and more recently the Moraine 1st Church of God. Edgar’s family will receive friends on Thursday January 6, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Moraine 1st Church of God, 5867 N. Springboro Rd., Dayton, OH. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30am. Pastor Don Curtis will officiate. Burial will take place at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin.
