James Jim A. Marquis

MARQUIS, James A. “Jim”, age 59 of Miamisburg, Passed away Thursday March 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 16, 1953 in Dayton, OH to the late Hubert E. and Mary V. (Earnst) Marquis. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant sister, Letha Faye. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Karen E. (Deuser) Marquis, his sons, Zachary Marquis of Dayton, Isaac Marquis of Columbus and Daniel (Kelly) Cox of Miamisburg; daughters, Holly (Rod) Bates of Mason and Heather (Dan) Sartin of England; grandchildren, Caleb, Reanna and Xander; siblings Joyce (Richard) Fogle of New Lebanon, Bonnie (Bill) Reedy of Brookville, Donna (Damon) Sidle of Brookville, Nita Sebastian of New Lebanon, Barb (Rick) Morgan of Brookville, Chuck (Roberta) Marquis of Phillipsburg and Jeff (Tami) Marquis of New Lebanon and a sister-in-law, Gloria (Steve) Wolf of Tennessee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was a 1971 graduate of Dixie High School and went on to complete his education at the National Broadcasting School in Dayton. Jim was employed as a tool and die maker for Dayton Progress for 34 years. Jim enjoyed many activities especially softball, bowling, keno, watching the Browns and spending time with family and friends. Family will receive guests from 3:00 – 5:00PM Thursday, March 15, 2012 at New Lebanon United Methodist Church at 2040 W. Main St., New Lebanon, OH 45345. A memorial service will follow at the church at 5:00PM. A memorial celebration will be held Friday, March 16 from 3:00-6:00PM at Down the Pike at 1603 W. Alex Rd., West Carrollton, OH 45449. In the lieu of flowers, the family prefers Memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 3797 Summit Glen Drive, Suite G100, Dayton, OH 45449.
