

Age 78 of Miamisburg, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Kingston of Miamisburg. He was born at home in Stotesbury, West Virginia to the late, Chester and Lucy (Houchins) Smith. Also preceding him in death is his wife, Dixie L. Smith and granddaughter, Noelle Smith; brother, Chester Smith Jr.; sisters, Mary Frances Scott, Juanita Hylton, Betty Puckett and Pauline Clemons. He is survived by his daughters, Kelli (Todd) Angel, Tiffani (Bob) Rose, Niki (Heath) McDaniel; grandchildren, Lexxi, Mac, Chloe, Kali; brother, Kenneth Smith; sister, Doris Lily; sisters-in-law, Doris Rose and Linda Gwin and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. James served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post #165 and worked as a tool grinder with Delco Moraine. He was a big UD Flyers Basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan. James coached all of his kids during their softball years and was very proud to have played a significant part in the development of Rice Fields. He loved spending time with his family; taking them on vacations to the beach, attending ball games, amusement parks and just being together. Friends and family may visit from 2-4 pm on Sunday, March 15 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11am on Monday, March 16, also at the funeral home with Chaplain Ralph Vincell officiating. James will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery.
