Jess Evans-Skudlarek, age 40, originally from Evansville, Indiana and recently of Miamisburg, Ohio exited the stage of life on Thursday, the 10th of July, 2025. She was born on the 1st of September, 1984, the daughter of Alice (Pfister) and Jack Evans.
Jess was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Pfister.
Jess will be remembered with love by her wife of 15 years, Jen Evans-Skudlarek; dad and step-mom, Jack & Debbie Evans; brother and sister-in-law, Eric & Krystal Evans, and their kids: Ash, Jackson, & Tanis; her parents-in-law, Bill & Teri Skudlarek; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff & Jenny Skudlarek, and their kids: Anna, Kevon, Cooper, & Nora; sister-in-law and fiancé, Amanda Skudlarek & Kenny Floyd; and countless found family & friends.
A lifelong lover of theater, art, and music, Jess felt one of her greatest achievements was singing at Carnegie Hall with her high school choir. She was extremely proud to share her mother’s singing voice. In adulthood, Jess was active in community theater: acting, singing, assisting backstage, & in the tech booth. Her best times were seeing her favorite shows with her favorite person.
But more than anything, Jess was a creator. She was well known for being able to make absolutely anything with yarn (including a decapitate-able goat & a remote controlled chicken). She created custom Funko Pops for the people she loved and even attracted celebrity interest in her work. She had this amazing ability to take a 2-D image and create a 3-D work of art.
Jess was one of a kind, just ask her. There was nothing she didn’t have an opinion on, and there wasn’t a grammatical error she wouldn’t correct. Jess would do anything for the people she loved. When she loved, she loved with everything she had. Jess will be celebrated, loved, and missed.
